The Misgendering of Joan of Arc

Art history has suppressed transgender histories, particularly with genderqueer Joan of Arc who has been portrayed as feminine. Cross-dressing was illegal, but Joan wore short black hair, shirts with shorts, doublets, leggings & boots & this led to her martyrdom.
