The visual cortex processes visual information, taking snapshots of the world in quick succession; yet we fill in the blanks & see the world as continuous & dynamic. This capacity is a continuum - some visualize as if the object is actually in front of them - some people have a 'blind mind’s eye' & cannot visualize even familiar faces.
