The decline of empathy among health professional students is a concern for medical educators. An interpersonal approach to learning, through the participatory arts and humanities, enhances empathic capacities and increases the sense of shared responsibility for mproving the quality and equity of health as co- creators among their peers, colleagues, humanists, patients, and the public.
