Living Machines: Metaphors We Live By

The metaphor of life as machinery (e.g machine learning, designed intelligence, genome ‘blueprint etc.) is common across disciplines (e.g. IT, bioengineering, synthetic biology). Art has the capacity to shift our perceptions of the living things by embracing the messy complexity of life, serve as counterpoints in a techno-scientific discussions, be playful and provocative & balance out the ontology of controllable life.
