Art forms like dance are often seen contrasted with the sciences as ways of knowing, which can be oppressive & exclusionary. Meaning-making strategies such as dance challenge that ideological separation where science is seen as disembodied & lacking creativity; & art as frivolous, irrational, & non-cognitive.
