Big-C creativity in artists and scientists is associated with more random global but less random local fMRI functional connectivity

Exceptionally creative visual artists and scientists, or “Big C” creative types, is associated with more random connectivity- a pattern that is less ‘efficient’ but the architecture enables brain activity to link distant brain nodes to each other, make novel connections and ‘take a road less traveled’.
