The Saliency of Snake Scales and Leopard Rosettes to Infants: Its Relevance to Graphical Patterns Portrayed in Prehistoric Art

Geometrically arranged spots & crosshatched incised lines are often seen in cave art. These patterns are salient to infants during an early brain development for rapid snake recognition. Prehistoric artistic renditions of similar patterns suggest beauty & danger are linked as a motivational system to maintain awareness.
